Repair Facts & FAQ's
Scheduling
Hamden Auto Body schedules repairs based on many different factors. It is our goal to handle your repair in the most efficient and timely manner possible. By taking care of the administrative and parts ordering functions before you leave the vehicle for repairs, the length of repair time necessary can be greatly reduced.
When to Schedule Repairs
You can schedule your repair date at the same time you come down for an estimate or if you already have an estimate, simply give us a call and it can be scheduled on the phone.
Drivable Vehicles
If your vehicle is safe to drive following a collision, it is best to schedule the actual repair date far enough in advance that the administrative portion of the claim process can be handled.
Non-drivable Vehicles
Our office staff will assist with towing arrangements so that your vehicle can be moved to the shop as soon as possible. No appointment is needed.
Payments
All repair work must be paid in full prior to picking up the vehicle unless arrangements have been made in advance to bill the insurance company directly. The person listed on the credit card or check must be present when payments are made.
Insurance Payments
There is a great deal of variance as to how insurance companies handle payments for collision repairs. Many companies are billed directly after repairs have been completed and you are back in your vehicle. Others will issue payments before any work is started. Your Customer Service Representative can give you the details regarding the payment procedures of the insurance company paying for your collision damage repairs. Hamden Auto Body's front office staff is experienced at helping you through this portion of the claims process. If an insurance company issues you a check, we recommend you do not cash it. We will generally accept these checks as payment when you pick up your vehicle.
